SERVICE TERMS & CONDITIONS

Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all plumbing and trade services provided by Dietrich Plumbing (ABN: 13 858 279 269) to the client. By engaging our services, requesting a quotation, or allowing work to proceed, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Scope of Services

We provide plumbing and related trade services in accordance with Australian Standards, relevant building codes, and industry best practice. All work is carried out based on information available at the time of inspection. Some issues may only become apparent once work has commenced.

2. Quotations and Estimates

  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
  • Quotes are based on visible and accessible work areas only.
  • Any variations, additional work, or unforeseen issues will be discussed with you and may incur additional charges.
  • Estimates are an approximation only and may change depending on site conditions.

3. Call-Out Fees and Out-of-Hours Work

  •  A call-out fee applies to all out of hours jobs unless otherwise stated.
  • Out-of-hours call-outs (including evenings, weekends, and public holidays) incur an out-of-hours call-out fee.
  • For out-of-hours jobs, the call-out fee must be paid in full prior to the job being inspected.
  • Payment of the out-of-hours call-out fee can be made on site via credit card or cash.
  • Payment of the call-out fee does not include the cost of repairs or labour beyond the initial inspection.

4. Access to Site

You agree to provide clear, safe, and reasonable access to the property and work areas. If access is restricted, unsafe, or delayed, additional charges may apply.

5. Client Responsibilities

 You agree to:

  • Disclose any known issues that may affect the work (e.g. asbestos, previous repairs, faulty systems).
  • Ensure utilities such as water and power are available where required.
  • Remove personal belongings from the work area prior to commencement.

6. Pricing and Payment Terms

  •  All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated.
  • Invoices must be paid in full by the due date stated on the invoice.
  • Payment methods accepted include credit card, cash, and any other methods specified on the invoice.
  • Late payments may result in reminder notices, suspension of services, or referral to a debt collection agency.
  • Any costs incurred in recovering overdue payments may be charged to you.

7. Variations and Additional Work

If additional work is required due to unforeseen circumstances, hidden defects, or changes requested by you, this work will be charged in addition to the original quote or estimate.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • We require reasonable notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
  •  If a job is cancelled or rescheduled with short notice, this may result in your job or project being significantly delayed or pushed back due to existing job schedules and other client commitments.

9. Warranties and Defects

  • We provide statutory warranties as required under Australian Consumer Law.
  • Our workmanship is warranted for a reasonable period, subject to normal use and maintenance.
  • Warranties do not cover defects caused by misuse, third-party interference, existing faults, or materials supplied by the client.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees or rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.
  • Our liability is limited to the cost of re-supplying the services or rectifying defective work.

12. Safety and Compliance

You acknowledge that some plumbing work may involve risks, including damage to existing pipes, fixtures, or surrounding areas. All reasonable care will be taken to minimise disruption and damage.

13. Ownership of Materials

All materials supplied by us remain our property until payment has been made in full.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform services due to events beyond our reasonable control, including weather events, supplier delays, or emergencies.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the state or territory in which the services are provided, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state or territory.

16. Acceptance of Terms

By accepting a quote, booking a service, or allowing work to proceed, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
